Mission
Our mission is to provide independent, accurate, fair and human centered journalism that helps people understand the realities shaping their world.
We will report on conflict, politics, human rights, displacement, migration, humanitarian crises, inequality, justice, governance, social change and the everyday experiences of people affected by them. We will seek out voices that are often ignored or unheard while also holding powerful institutions and individuals accountable for their actions. We will not allow geography, nationality, ethnicity, religion, political affiliation or the identity of an actor to determine whether a story deserves to be told.
Editorial Charter
Our Editorial Charter sets out the principles that guide The Human Frontline's journalism. It defines our commitments to accuracy, independence, fairness, human dignity, source protection, accountability and responsible reporting.
Editorial Standards
Our Editorial Standards guide how we report, verify and publish information. We distinguish facts from allegations and opinion, seek relevant responses, protect vulnerable sources, minimize unnecessary harm and correct significant errors when they occur.
Editorial Independence
The Human Frontline is editorially independent. Our reporting and editorial decisions are not controlled by governments, political parties, armed groups, donors, advertisers or other external interests. Financial or institutional support does not determine what we publish or how we report it.
Corrections Policy
Accuracy is central to our journalism. When we make a significant error, we will correct it clearly and promptly. We will not hide mistakes, and we will update published information when credible new evidence changes the facts.
Conflict of Interest
Our journalists and contributors must avoid personal, financial or professional interests that could compromise—or reasonably appear to compromise—their editorial independence. Potential conflicts will be disclosed and managed transparently.
Transparency
Trust requires transparency. We aim to be open about who we are, how our journalism is produced, how we correct errors and how we are supported. We will disclose relevant partnerships, funding relationships and potential conflicts that could affect public trust or editorial independence.
